Edinburgh and Tickets For Troops team up for 1872 Cup Derby
Tickets For Troops are thrilled to be working with Edinburgh Rugby again this season! A stunning donation of 250 tickets for the second leg of the 1872 Cup versus their age-old rivals Glasgow Warriors, flew out with members of HM Armed Forces from across Edinburgh and the Lothians jumping at the chance to attend this famous derby.
We are incredibly proud to have steadfast support from the club, Edinburgh Rugby’s Managing Director Douglas Struth and Scottish Rugby. Giving our troops the opportunity to make fantastic memories with loved ones is what we’re all about! The recognition of the sacrifices made by service personnel by the Rugby community is appreciated by Tickets For Troops and the Service Community alike.
“We’re delighted to be working with Tickets For Troops again this season and it’s brilliant that the club are able to once again provide members of the armed forces with tickets for what is set to be a brilliant day of rugby at BT Murrayfield,” said Struth.
“The 1872 Cup is a special fixture, and it’s made special because of the fantastic support we receive from fans located in Edinburgh and across Scotland.
“With that, it’s only right that we can give back to those who serve this country, and with the brilliant work of the Tickets For Troops initiative, we’ve been able to do that this Christmas.”
On troops attending this year’s 1872 Cup match at BT Murrayfield, Tickets For Troops Director of Operations William Campbell-Lamerton, said:
“Rugby has been a massive supporter of Tickets For Troops since we launched a decade ago and it’s fantastic that Edinburgh Rugby has maintained this level of generosity, especially for such an exciting derby clash as the 1872 Cup!
“We are thrilled to offer our members the opportunity to take their loved ones to BT Murrayfield over the festive season. We are both delighted and grateful for the support offered to us and our members."
A huge thank you to all the fantastic staff for facilitating this exciting night out at Murrayfield!
