Ultra Marathon Colour Sergeant Kilpatrick keeps on running
CSgt Samuel Kilpatrick has completed 22 years service with the regular army, The Royal Irish Regiment. He is currently serving as Non Permanent Regular Staff with D Company, London Irish Rifles; the London Regiment based at the Army Reserve Centre in Camberwell and is responsible for the stores and equipment on issue to his unit.
CSgt Kilpatrick is originally from County Donegal and is a keen runner taking part in many events ranging from 10km to 250 miles.
He has taken part in some of the toughest ultra distance events on the planet, including the Spartathlon in Greece which is a 153 mile non stop event with a time limit of 36 hours; the Badwater 135 mile race through Death Valley California with a time limit of 38 hours and the Thames Ring of 250 miles.
His race programme for this year includes: 100km Celtic Plate race in Perth, South Downs 50 mile, the Belfast Marahon and course of the London Marathon as well as many others.
Through his running CSgt Kilpatrick has raised many funds for charities and we’re extremely grateful that he has chosen to run the Virgin Money London Marathon for Tickets For Troops.
